COAST AND SECOND HOMES

The housing stock

What homes are like in Santa Pola

Santa Pola combines a working town and fishing port with an enormous second-home development. In the centre and around the port there’s traditional housing and mid-rise buildings; in Playa Lisa, Varadero and above all in Gran Alacant, apartments, bungalows and townhouses built between the eighties and the two thousands dominate, many of them used only a few months a year. That seasonal use has a clear effect: the properties age less inside and more outside, so here it’s usual for the interior to need only the kitchen and bathrooms bringing up to date while terraces, roof terraces and external window frames have spent years taking sun and salt with no maintenance.

Frequently asked questions about renovating in Santa Pola

Here are the questions we get asked most. If you still have one, write to us and we’ll help, at no obligation.

Yes, Gran Alacant is within our usual area, as are the town of Santa Pola itself and the coastal estates. We travel out at no cost to see the job and quote for it.

The most common is bringing the kitchen and bathrooms up to date, which are the rooms that age fastest, and sorting out the outside: waterproofing terraces and roof terraces, flooring and window frames. In seasonally used properties the outside is usually in considerably worse shape than the inside.

It’s the sensible approach with a second home: we plan the work for the months you’re not using the property and you reach the summer with everything ready. There’s also more availability of dates in the low season.

Yes. We match the level of the renovation to the goal: hard-wearing materials, simple upkeep and a finish that works well in photos for the booking sites. We aim to make the investment pay, without overdoing it.

Yes. We work across the whole province of Alicante and travel to wherever the job is, so Santa Pola is well within our usual area. The visit to see the work and give you a detailed quote costs nothing and commits you to nothing.
