The housing stock

What homes are like in Elche

Elche’s housing stock is shaped by its industrial history. Neighbourhoods like Carrús and Altabix grew block by block in the sixties and seventies to house the people arriving to work in the shoe trade, and today they’re flats with a very good size-to-price ratio but with the closed-off layouts of the period, narrow kitchens and services that need renewing entirely. In the centre and around the Palmeral you find older buildings and homes with more character, and in Valverde, Torrellano and the other outlying districts detached houses with plots dominate, where the work looks more like a villa job. It’s a city where the typical renovation is opening up the kitchen and renewing the services.

A quote made for you

How much does renovating in Elche cost?

The price depends on your particular property, not on an average. This is what matters most:

That’s why we don’t publish fixed rates: every property is different and we’d rather see it before giving a figure. Write or call us and we’ll arrange a no-obligation visit, with a detailed quote broken down line by line, free of charge.

Frequently asked questions about renovating in Elche

Here are the questions we get asked most. If you still have one, write to us and we’ll help, at no obligation.

It depends on the floor area, the state of the services and the specifications. Sixties and seventies flats in Carrús or Altabix usually need the plumbing and the wiring renewing entirely, which changes the quote considerably compared with a more recent property. We pin it down after the visit, at no obligation.

In many blocks in the city yes, because the wall between kitchen and living room is usually a partition rather than load-bearing. But it has to be checked case by case, along with locating the soil pipes and service shafts, which can’t be moved. It’s the first thing we look at on the visit.

Yes: Torrellano, Valverde, La Marina, Arenales del Sol and the other outlying districts are all within our usual working area, just like the town itself. We travel out at no cost to see the job and quote for it.

An average flat runs between two and three months depending on the size and the starting condition; a detached house in one of the outlying districts can take longer. The quote gives you a schedule with start and handover dates.

Yes. We work across the whole province of Alicante and travel to wherever the job is, so Elche is well within our usual area. The visit to see the work and give you a detailed quote costs nothing and commits you to nothing.
