SMALL JOBS TOO

Serious people, serious work

Looking for a builder for a job at home?

Anyone looking for a builder has usually been through the hard part already: quotes that never arrive, appointments that aren’t kept and jobs left half done. Our approach is that of a company, not a mobile number: we visit your home, give you the quote in writing and itemised, agree realistic dates, and the same team that starts your job finishes it and makes good. It doesn’t matter whether it’s building a partition wall, tiling a bathroom or making good an internal façade: the treatment and the standards are the same as on a full renovation.

Every building trade

The building work we take on

This is what we’re asked for most, though if your job isn’t on the list, ask us: if it’s building work, we do it or we tell you who does.

Partition walls and plasterboard

We build and take down partition walls, fit dry-lining and plasterboard ceilings and rearrange spaces.

Floors and flooring

Laying ceramic, porcelain and stoneware floors, plus levelling screeds and making up floor levels.

Wall tiling

We lay ceramic and porcelain tiles in kitchens and bathrooms, and also strip out the old tiling when it's time to start from scratch.

Demolition and opening up walls

Controlled demolition, forming door and window openings and taking rubble to a licensed tip.

Repairs and making good

Cracks, surface damp, patching up work others left half done and the small everyday fixes.

Courtyards, walls and outdoor work

Walls, fencing, courtyard slabs and building work around the outside of the property.

The usual question

A builder on his own or a building firm?

There are excellent tradespeople working on their own, so the question isn't who's better, but what your job needs. Here's the honest comparison.

Self-employed builder

One tradesman, his crew and his diary.

  • Dealing with them Straight to the person doing the work, very personal.
  • Price Can be keener on straightforward jobs.
  • If something goes wrong You depend on one person: if he's ill or overloaded, the job waits.
  • Other trades Plumber and electrician are usually hired separately.
  • When it suits Small, well-defined jobs, with someone you already trust.
Building firm

A team, backing and one person responsible.

  • Dealing with them One fixed point of contact who answers for the whole team.
  • Price A written, itemised quote, with no surprises at the end.
  • If something goes wrong The team gets reinforced or replaced: the job doesn't stop.
  • Other trades Plumbing, electrics and painting coordinated within the same job.
  • When it suits Jobs with several trades, deadlines that matter, or where you want backing.

Not sure how much building work your idea involves? We'll look at it on a visit and tell you straight, at no obligation.

Yes, really

No job is too small for us

Swapping a shower tray, opening a doorway where there was a wall, tiling a single wall, repairing a crack you’ve been looking at for years: we’ll come out for that too. We know plenty of firms turn these jobs down and that finding someone to do them properly is harder than hiring a whole renovation. Our commitment is the same on a three-month job as on a two-day one: a written quote, clean work and a professional finish. And if we open something up and find something more serious (damp, a damaged waste pipe), we stop, show you and give you a price before carrying on; you’ll never find it on the invoice as a surprise.

A quote made for you

How much does a building job cost?

Every job has its own measure, so the price is worked out on the actual work, not on generic hourly rates. This is what matters most:

That’s why we don’t publish hourly rates or generic prices: we’d rather see the job before giving a figure. Write or call us and we’ll arrange a no-obligation visit, with a written quote broken down line by line, free of charge.

How we work

How we run every job

The same method for a two-day job as for a three-month one. This is how we work from start to finish.

01

Visit and measuring up

We see the job in person, measure and listen to you. It's the only serious way to give a price. No obligation and no cost.

02

A written quote

You get the quote broken down line by line, with materials and agreed dates. No small print.

03

Clean work

We protect the area, work on the dates agreed and clear up at the end of each day. Rubble goes to a licensed tip.

04

Snagging and handover

We go over every finish with you before calling the job done. The work ends when you're happy, not before.

Building work: before and after

This is what the change looks like on a building job. These examples show the kind of result we achieve; once we have photos of your own projects, we’ll add them here.

Frequently asked questions about building work

Here are the questions we get asked most before taking on a job. If you still have one, write to us and we’ll help, at no obligation.

It depends on the type of work, the area, the materials and the access, so be wary of generic rates: a serious price comes after seeing the job. We visit, measure and give you a written, itemised quote, at no obligation and no cost.

It varies with the size of the tile, the condition of the surface and whether the old covering has to come off. Large formats and porcelain need more preparation of the wall or floor, and that shows in the price per metre. In the quote we break it down line by line so you can see what each part costs.

Yes, genuinely: swapping a shower tray, opening up a wall, tiling one wall or repairing a crack. We know that’s the hardest thing to find, and we treat it as seriously as a big job: a visit, a written quote and a professional finish.

Both. We take out old tiling in kitchens and bathrooms when it’s worth starting from scratch, and we lay ceramic, stoneware and porcelain on walls and floors. If the existing tiling is sound, we can also look at solutions that go over the top without removing it.

We’re not a tile shop: we’re the ones who lay them. We can supply the material within the quote (we’ll show you options and prices) or you can supply it yourself if you’ve already chosen; we’ll quote both ways.

Alicante and its province: Elche, Torrevieja, Elda, San Vicente, El Campello and the surrounding area. Tell us where the job is and we’ll confirm the visit.

Always. We visit the job, measure and hand you a quote broken down line by line before starting. If something unforeseen turns up during the work, we stop, show you and give you a price before carrying on.

Anything structural or fabric-related: building and taking down partition walls, laying floors and tiling, screeds and slabs, forming door and window openings, repairing cracks and surface damp, and making good what the other trades leave prepared. In a renovation, the building work is the skeleton everything else hangs on.
